The Convivium is hosting longtime PLS friend, Professor Emeritus David Townsend, for a talk and reading from his new novel The Ram in the Thicket: A Novel of Medieval Norwich this Friday, Nov 7 at the Centre for Medieval Studies, University of Toronto.
Prof Townsend will explore what happens when scholars turn to writing historical fiction — and how evidence and imagination meet on the page.
He’ll be reading from a chapter set at the Norwich Whitmonday plays, which should be fascinating for many of our friends!
